FILM REVIEWS:
Taken 2: Starring Liam Neeson.

I saw Taken 2 a few days ago, and I must say it was fairly enjoyable, the acting was pretty good, the fight scenes were well done and Liam Neeson is, well, still Liam Neeson. The story is pretty straightforward, the Albanian mafia guys from the first movie want revenge after… well I won’t spoil it, but they want revenge. They kidnap his wife, and him. Which is pretty redundant since they’re just going to get their asses kicked by Neeson. They kidnaped his daughter in the first movie for human trafficking and prostitution. So, what would they want with his wife? Nothing really, just for him to fell pain and for them to get revenge, if you ask me, it sounds like the studio just wants some more money, pfft… studios these days.

Now I have not seen the first film, but I heard it was very good. So if you have not seen the first movie, I recommended it because I was quite confused, but luckily my friend explained it to me. But the acting was pretty good, especially from Neeson, Maggie Grace was all right, and the bad guys did a pretty good job at portraying themselves as antagonists. They still won’t be remember as timeless movie mafias, but they still seem like a reason why you don’t mess with the mob, but for more reasons, take a look at films such as Goodfellas, Godfather, etc.

The movie is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action, and some sensuality. But about that, the first one was rated R so not many people (students) got to see it, yet the second was PG-13, but us under-18-year-olds wouldn’t understand what happened unless someone (my friend) told us so. If they made the first one PG-13, or the second one R, then it would make more sense if you ask me. Plus, movies seem to make a LOT more money with a PG-13 rating (Hunger Games), but some R rated movies had they’re share at making a lot of money (Godfather, Pulp Fiction) but I’m getting ahead of myself here.

Overall, it was an enjoyable thriller, acting was ok, lots of action, but kind of boring in a way. But it is still one of the most fun movies I had in the theater, but probably not as memorable as The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, or The Hunger Games. I give it a 7.2/10
